Select Program Update, as of 12/17/2008:

As the regular season winds down and folks start thinking about playing in the Spring you may curious to learn the latest news and announcements about our Select Program.

The Program is split into 2 groups:

Year Round Select- starts practices in October and plays until July 31st. This year we started later with teams practicing in November. The team will play in 5 tournaments, the Founder’s Cup tournament and the PV Spring League.

Spring Select- starts at  the end of the primary fall season, plays in the PV Spring League and competes in the Founder’s Cup tournament. The Coach and parents can agree to play in more tournaments if there is sufficient interest.

Player Selection Process:

Unless approved by the Select Committee as a Fall or Spring Coach, no coach may approach or discuss Select with a player or parents. Any queries about the program should be sent to the Select Coordinator. Any coach found violating this policy will be barred from coaching in the Select program. Coaches are not allowed to “recruit” players committed to another team. Spring Coaches are approved after the Fall team roster is finalized in each division.

 Uniforms:

The region has adopted a single uniform and numbering plan. Uniforms will be purchased through the Region Uniform Coordinator. For each Division a player will be assigned a unique number each year, this will facilitate the combining of teams to play in tournaments later in the season.

Latest Status- Year Round Program:

The following coaches are approved and may be recruiting. In some cases there was insufficient coach interest to start a Fall team. some divisions have completed their recruiting efforts and are closed.

U14 Girls- No Fall Program.

U14 Boys- Closed. Coaches R. Holmes and McNulty.

U12 Girls- Closed. Coach Elmore and Wilson.

U12 Boys- Closed. Coaches Rivera and Gahan.

U10 Boys- Closed. Coaches Jamile and Jamile.

U10 Girls- Closed. Coaches D. Holmes and Michell

Latest Status- Spring Program: (updated 3/20/2009)

U14 Girls- Closed. Coaches Toon and Motta.

U14 Boys- Closed. Coach Hokuf.

U12 Girls- Closed. Coach Adabzadeh.

U12 Boys- Closed. Coach Adabzadeh.

U10 Girls- Closed. Coach Demirjian.

U10 Boys- Closed. Coach See and O' Malley.

2008 Select Program (posted 11/3/2008)

This year Region 12 has taken a different approach to the Select program. In order to reach the widest audience, players and parents will have the opportunity to express their interest directly to the Region. This new approach will help alleviate any miscommunication between the Select coaches and players who would like to play in the program. The Select coaches were recently approved and are actively looking to build their teams.

How do I sign-up?

Similar to previous years, the selection of players is at the coaches and region’s discretion, and will take into account a number of factors in accordance with the region’s select policy.
